Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions.

Unless otherwise especially agreed by us in writing, the terms and conditions stated below apply to all transactions. Where prices are shown as inclusive of VAT these are at the rate of 23%. Prices will be adjusted accordingly should this rate change.

Credit and payment terms

HDL requires all Trade accounts to be settled strictly 30 days from the date of invoice (unless other terms have been agreed in writing). We reserve the right to charge interest on late payments in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act. All other accounts must be settled at time of order.

Delivery

The period quoted for delivery is a guideline only. HDL does not accept responsibility for delays caused by mis-instruction, manufacturing delays, strikes or adverse weather conditions. Delay times may be extended during the holiday periods and factory closures. It is advisable that no installation should be arranged until the goods have been received and checked.

HDL will not be held responsible for any arrangement of installation prior to receipt and acceptance of the goods and any charges therein. Please note: many European companies close for 2-4 weeks for their annual holiday during August. This can add substantially to the delivery period quoted for non-stock items ordered during July and August. These factors are outside the control of HDL so please allow extra time for goods ordered just prior and during this period.

  • Delivery is to the nearest hard standing area.
  • The consignee is responsible for offloading.
  • The goods must be checked and signed for in the presence of the carrier .
  • Any damage or shortages must be reported in writing within two working days of delivery.
  • Failure to comply with any of the above may invalidate any claims.
  • We recommend that after you check the product on delivery that it is stored in its packaging to prevent damage.

HDL cannot accept responsibility for items damaged after delivery. HDL will ensure that goods are delivered in good order and cannot accept any responsibility for any damages that occur after delivery. Signing of the delivery note will be determined as acceptance that goods have been delivered in good order at the time of delivery.

Technical

All technical data, measurements and outputs are in accordance with the manufacturer’s terms of reference at the time of going to press. Each manufacturer reserves their individual rights to change, alter or discontinue products as illustrated within this catalogue. You are advised to confirm at the time of ordering that the published technical data in this brochure and the enclosed price list is still valid. If requiring a radiator with optional positions for plugs and bushes, these must be specified at the time of ordering, otherwise the radiator will be supplied with Bottom Opposite End connections as standard.

Maintenance

Towel rails and Radiators are not designed for drying wet or sodden items. They are suitable for airing and preparation of warm towels only. Regular attention should be given to venting tall radiators and towel rails where air may collect and reduce efficiency.

Adjusting Pipe Work Prior To

Delivery

Whilst we endeavour to ensure all pipe centre dimensions are correct, manufacturing tolerances must be considered therefore we strongly recommend that pipe work is not altered or adjusted until the new radiator or towel rail is fixed in its final position. HDL will not accept any responsibility for any claims relating to inaccurate pipe centre information. All heating systems require regular visual inspection of radiators, valves and surface pipework to ensure there is no seepage and loss of water.

Carriage charges

All prices quoted are exclusive of carriage. Orders may be subject to a delivery charge which will be advised at the time of order.

Guarantees and Liabilities

As we are not the manufacturers of the products listed in this portfolio, we will take all reasonable endeavours to make over to you the benefit of any warranty or guarantee given by the manufacturer, which is usually five years on most of our range. (Copies of specific guarantees for any of our products are available on request). The guarantees in all cases are subject to the products being installed in accordance with Irish and or European standards as well as directed by the manufacturer in their installation instructions. The guarantees in all cases are restricted to the free of charge replacement or repair of the failed product only. Our liability will under no circumstances extend beyond the repair or replacement of the product supplied by us. Claims for either labour in replacement or damage to property are not admissible. Any goods that are returned, in the event of a problem, will belong to HDL. HDL reserves the right to change only the damaged or leaking section(s) on any sectional radiator less than 18 months old.

Cancellations

Once acknowledged by HDL orders cannot be cancelled except with our consent and on terms that will indemnify us against any loss. These will be advised at the time of cancellation, if required. Orders for non-standard products including RAL colours and optional tapping positions once acknowledged by HDL cannot be cancelled without full charge.

Return of goods

Under no circumstances can we accept returned goods without prior written acknowledgement. All goods must be suitably wrapped for transportation. All goods are subject to a minimum re-stocking charge of 25%.
